Secure Data Destruction

Secure Data Destruction

Hard drives need erasing and destroying? USB’s, storage devices, laptops, and a whole host more electronic systems hold data and whilst most companies have sufficient procedures in place to protect their data in-house and online, what about when it is time to dispose of the equipment and media containing that data?

At r3, we understand how critical data confidentiality and security is and can ensure the absolute destruction of all data held on any equipment or media collected for IT disposal. Under the Data Protection Act, new legislation means that companies can be fined up to £500,000 for breaching the Act.

r3 provides a range of government-approved, secure data protection services to give you complete peace of mind and ensure you comply with all aspects of the Data Protection Act.

One of the biggest challenges faced by IT managers is to ensure any data is erased securely and cost-effectively. So why is permanent data disposal necessary?

Your electronically stored data is likely to include many files that you would not want accessed or viewed by people outside of your organisation. We know first-hand that sensitive information that falls into the wrong hands can lead to loss of business, property, or reputation, potentially leading to civil and criminal liability.

Simply deleting data from a hard drive does not mean that the data is permanently deleted and inaccessible. Regulatory requirements for data protection and customer privacy demand complete, well documented and absolute data disposal.

At R3 we use Kroll Ontrack Eraser to guarantee that all your data has been permanently removed. Kroll’s overwriting technology meets the most stringent of international standards, including those used by the UK and US military authorities.

It completely removes all data on targeted storage devices using proven, customisable overwriting procedures. As well as removing all data it is also approved by the CESG to the highest HMG Infosec 5 standards. When utilising R3’s data destruction services, we also supply analytical reports for each data device wiped, ensuring your complete peace of mind.

Degaussing –

At r3 we offer a convenient, end-of-lifecycle service – the complete removal of your data using a degausser, a hardware device that destroys data using strong magnetic fields. This method of data destruction is compliant to the CESG lower level of compliance.

We can provide degaussing on our customer’s site/s to ensure data is destroyed prior to the physical removal of your redundant IT and further destruction processes if required to meet your data protection requirements. When understanding your needs we will make sure that all your data disposal requirements are met.

Shredding –

R3 provide several different shredding options to physically destroy data storing devices such as hard disc drives. The shredding of data storage devices involves a process of grinding and cutting into small particles. Further passes through a shredder can reduce the particles to less than 6mm, the MOD standard, of which data can no longer be recovered.

What makes this even better is that if previously arranged, all r3 data destruction services can be provided on-site at your premises. With a full and final inventory listing of items destroyed provided along with a Certificate of Data Destruction we guarantee your complete peace of mind.

If you’re looking for data destruction or erasure our team are here to help so why not call one of our friendly and professional team members today on 01189 454 225.
